This house in Sotogrande, Spain exemplifies a project that beautifully integrates nature with the built environment. The design concept was created by Andrea Arqués (A Studio Architects), an architecture and interior design studio focused on conscious design.
When designing a house, it’s not only the final appearance that matters—shaping how the inhabitants feel—but also the proportions that create a balance of fullness and emptiness. The aim of A Studio’s creative process is to infuse each space with a unique vibrational energy through a conscious and refined use of space.
Andrea and her team take time and care to craft custom, healthy, warm, and light-filled spaces. Quality, sustainability, and a relaxed pace of life are always at the forefront.
In this project, A Studio uses natural materials like wood and stone to create a seamless connection between the home’s interior and exterior, ensuring a harmonious, continuous flow.
The design draws inspiration from the rich history and culture of the Mediterranean, blending traditional elements with contemporary style. It emphasizes modern functionality and comfort while evoking a strong sense of place. The minimalist design highlights simplicity and the thoughtful use of natural materials, with soft finishes and light wood tones adding warmth and fostering a serene, inviting atmosphere.
A standout feature is the Tanit lamp, designed by Gonzalo Milà, which complements the aesthetic and enhances both the design and functionality of the space. The fusion of these elements promotes well-being and tranquility.
